Age Verifier - ICT Supplier

An Age Verification Module made by ICT (International Currency Technologies, Taiwan) that connects to your vending machine and only allows purchases after verifying that the customer is of legal age.

These devices are widely used in:

• Vape vending machines

• Cigarette machines

• Alcohol vending machines

• Restricted product kiosks

Depending on your model, ICT age verifiers typically use one or more of the following:

ID Card Scanning (Most Common)

• Scans government IDs (driver’s license, national ID, etc.)

• Reads barcode, magnetic strip, or chip

• Extracts date of birth

• Approves or rejects purchase automatically

ICT modules usually integrate via:

• MDB (Multi-Drop Bus) — same as bill acceptors

• Serial connection (RS232)

• USB (Android machines)

• Relay output (enable/disable signal)

Once verified, the module sends an “OK to vend” signal to the machine.

Although exact colors vary:

• 🟢 Green — Verification successful / Ready

• 🔴 Red — Failed / Underage / Error

• 🔵 Blue — Standby or scanning

• Flashing — Processing

If It Doesn’t Accept IDs

• Clean scanner window

• Ensure ID is fully inserted

• Check lighting (for camera models)

• Verify correct age setting

• Restart the machine

• Check MDB/serial connection

• Verify age module is enabled in settings

• Check relay output wiring

• Restart system

• Check power supply

• Inspect cables

• Look for blown fuse

• Reboot controller

These are not always written in law but strongly recommended:

✔ Lock the machine securely

✔ Enable remote monitoring

✔ Keep transaction logs

✔ Disable operation outside legal hours (if needed)
